I’m seeking help to take this project further, so that more people can see it, and to explore opportunities for arts based research around the subject of inter-generational trauma. If you are in a position to make a contribution, by however much, thank you. And if you know of any other opportunities for funding or showing, please do get in touch.

Submitting the film to animation festivals

I’m raising some money to be able to submit the film to animation festivals in the coming 12 months. These festivals are an opportunity to broaden the exposure to and further validate the independent film I’ve made, and for me as an artist. I am a first-time film-maker so this is a whole new world and learning curve. If I am selected to go to any of these festivals, I will meet other filmmakers and widen my opportunities for my future projects. Depending on the size of the fesitival it costs anywhere between £10 and £100 to submit.

Installation materials

I built the sculpture of the head in my living room from chicken wire, bamboo and willow branches, modroc and plaster. Whilst it has done a brilliant job, I’ve learned from this first installation that it served as a prototype and I need to build a plynth and purchase more silk to hang, the flowing nature of the hanging silk adds to the transient, dreamlike experience into the installation.

I borrowed the media players and speakers to make this initial installation work and in order to be self sufficient I will need to purchase some technical equipment such as media players, monitors, headphones etc…
